Visitors from afar!!

Gary, a local artist has designed a car bonnet for each AFL team.  They were intended to be ready for 'Dreamtime at the G' but they were not finished in time.  The artists have done such a great job.....sooooo many dots!!!!

Here are all 18 of the car bonnets.

At church each week some of my kids come and sit with me.  Bessy and Classio were there this week.

The mail plane comes in every Wednesday.  There is always great excitement after school Wednesday when we check what has arrived.  This plane also brings passengers.  My friend from Geelong, Sue came in on this plane, so mail day was certainly exciting for me.
These are the signs at the airport as you enter Balgo.
Excursions Balgo style!!!!  This is a Black Headed Python which is Palya (Good) Mungarri (food) for the locals.  This snake was very lucky as it was too skinny.  They let it live another day.

Our excursion was to 'Old Balgo" which is where Balgo was 50 years ago.  Magda, one of the Elders came along to tell us some stories from her childhood.  She was born here.

A Nutritionist visited our community and was teaching the children about a healthy diet.

Sue and I are sitting on the car at the turnoff to Balgo from the Tanami Track.  Balgo is 30 km down the road.
The turnoff is 800 km from Alice Springs and nearly 300km from Halls Creek.

Jeff and I went to the Wirrimanu Gallery and left with another amazing painting by one of our local artists.

Jeff doing some of my jobs.  These branches were scrapping on my roof every time there was wind.....and there is wind often!!

Another Soap Sunday effort.  Peppermint and goats milk this time.

Every Friday at assembly  the children present something that we have done that week.  Today they are showing the pages of our Bush Trip book.

Our school basketball court was the venue for one of the recent funerals.  This one was for a little 13 year old girl who died of  Rheumatic Heart disease, caused by untreated infections  Unfortunately, this is way too common.

Just off the Tanami Track is the Wolfe Creek Crater.  I have not seen the Wolfe Creek film, nor ever will!!!
This is a MASSIVE crater, apparently the second largest in the world.  We are on the inside of the crater in this picture.

I couldn't disappoint you.....here is another sunset!

My shoes and pants after a day at school.  Endless red dirt!!!!

Jeff in the goals at the Balgo ground.  I cant believe they can play in bare feet on this ground.
