Near and Far

We had a  ladies day out.  We made some damper, cooked Kangaroo tails and did some ochre painting Magda brought her crowbar to hunt for sand frogs.  The locals love eating frogs.  Fortunately for the frogs she didn't find any We had a long, long weekend.  2 other teachers and I headed to Kunanarra which is 7 hours away from Balgo.  Sitting eating tea at the Pump House I couldn't resist another sunset. ' This pool behind me is called a Infinity pool and it is at the Lake Argyle Caravan Park. Heading out for a sunset cruise on Lake Argyle.  A lovely evening with a touch of champers!! Yes, another sunset! On the way home we were stopped by the police for a breath test.  The police man was so nice, he told us to pop in for a cuppa the next time we were going past! Making spaghetti Bolognese with the kids.  The highlight of our week is our cooking afternoon. The knives are kept on a very high shelf!! Sunset from the lookout at ‘The Pound’ One of the many fires 🔥 that are lit daily around Balgo A Kidney nurse came in to talk to the kids about drinking water 💦  Thanks Bombers for sending this poster. It made Tim a very happy little boy Marlu (Kangaroo) stew for lunch. Made by the kids in ‘Culture’ classes. Apparently it was lovely! The Balgo airport lounge!! Painting bush tucker with help from the Balgo artists FLIES!!!!  They are relentless Yep!! Another sunset 🌇 on our walk to the airport  ‘Can I keep him’?  He is only a week old and soooo cute. Mum and Bub were both  keeping a good eye on me!!
