Week 10.... term 1 done ✅

I picked Jeff up from Halls Creek on Saturday. He was spending a week in the community. He came into the classroom every day to help.

On our last day we had a carnival at school. There was face painting, biscuits 🍪, slip and slide and much more.

The children lined up to throw water bombs at us. Jed is my classroom assistant and he copped the brunt of the ‘bombs’

One of my boys winding up with his missile!!

Jeff was welcomed to the community at Church. The church elders were giving him a blessing.

I was lucky to have Jeff mow my grass. No slithering friends were encountered!!!

TRIP TO COUNTRY
Cathy,  a community elder told us the Dream time story of the Rough tailed Lizard and the Echidna.

Here I am making Puff paint. The kids enjoyed using this.

At lunchtime (Mungarri) the children are given a sandwich 🥪

Holding this little fellow was the only way to stop him running around the room. I had him in my room to give the 1/2 teacher a break from him !!!

Tragically a young girl took her life on Thursday. We were painted with ochre to symbolise Sorry Time. Our staff went to the parents home and took grocery items. It was a very emotional time for us. So so sad for the community.

Each week I wash the students shirts. They get given a shirt each day but take it off before they go home.

We took the whole school to the new pool on the last day of term.  (It turned out to be the last day as we closed the school in respect of the death in the community)

With 2 of my gorgeous kids.

Another job I have taken in is to re sort the library books. For the last few years it has been left in attended. In this time all of the books ended up out of order. Today was the last section... the non fiction. It was great to have Jeff to help.
